As I continue on with the story I learn a bit about the Ewell family and their son, whom I will be characterizing. One way I would describe the Ewell family is lazy. First off, the Ewell kids do not go to school. They are typically forced to go on the first day by the truant lady. Even after that, they do not come back and are marked absent for the rest of the year. This shows they have no care for their education, or even their futures. Secondly, the Ewells’ father is a big drinker. Atticus admits Mr. Ewell spends most of his relief checks on green whiskey.
