Where a person consumes drugs or alcohol, definitely contributes to the reaction they will have. For some people, the setting adds a good dimension to their drug or alcohol experience. They may always take their drugs in the same place or always go to the same bar to drink, with the same people. Part of the addiction may come from the setting and to overcome the addiction, they will need to stay away from that location. Many drugs like, psychoactive drugs are particularly sensitive to the location they are taken. For example, if a person takes the drug in a nightclub, they may become very wrapped up in the lights and sounds and feel as if the music is part of them and have a great time. If a person is in a place that they may feel threatened, scared or unsure of, they may begin to have a bad experience on the psychoactive drug. Being able to leave the setting can help the person calm down and become less anxious of what is going on around them. If a person feels that they have to stay in a certain place, or that they may get in trouble if they begin to have a bad experience, this can make magnify the negative feelings and experience. Having a person who is experienced in psychoactive drugs available to help calm a person down, can reduce the risk of an adverse reaction
