Derrick Thomas is a hoss standing at 6’3” and 255 pounds. Derrick Thomas was once little though, believe it or not. Derrick was born in Miami, Florida in 1967. Thomas has been into football ever since a very young age of 3. Derrick was raised by his mother after his father was killed in an Air Force mission in Vietnam. Thomas is looked up to by many young kids and NFL players now, people want to be like him. Such as Von Miller who has been tearing it up just like Thomas did. Sadly, Derrick Thomas’ legacy left us on February 8, 2000. Throughout all of Derrick Thomas’ 11 year career he never won a super bowl. He is considered by many to be one of the best NFL players to never win a super bowl. He stands on that list with many greats such as Sterling Sharpe. Thomas holds many team records for the Chiefs. Records on that list include the most sacks, forced fumbles, and career safeties.
In the 1990 season in a game against the Seahawks, Thomas did something that has never happened before and still hasn’t been beaten. He sacked Dave Krieg 7 times in one game.
