In this essay, I will look at the studies carried out by the researcher which discuss the effectiveness of treatments for depression such as antidepressant drug and psychotherapy (cognitive therapy). Factors which cause the illness can sometimes work in combination with chemical imbalances in the brain to trigger depression. many evidence supports the use of psychotherapy for treatment and studies have a demonstrated that psychotherapy is effective for treating depression and improving symptoms experienced by patients who suffer from depression. Psychological treatments could prevent the patients with major depression from becoming more depressed. Although evidence stated a past history of depression increases the risk of future incidents and psychotherapy could have a serious impact in reducing the chances of reappearance further episodes.
