This is an artificial tooth that is made to look, feel, and work like any of your healthy teeth. We make them individually for you, so it will fill the space as perfectly as possible. The artificial tooth is secured in place by using two crowns, one on each of the teeth on either side of the gap. The crowns are made to look natural as well.

Dental Implants For Replacing Teeth

Bridges work well, but they usually have to be reset after so many years. Dental implants last much longer, making them a more popular option for many patients. In this procedure, Dr. Bistritz will surgically implant a titanium root into the jawbone underneath the empty space. Once the site is healed, the root will be fused to the bone just like the natural roots of your other teeth. An artificial tooth is made to your specifications so it will look normal and fit well. This is bonded to the root, giving you back the chewing power of your teeth.

Surgery can take a while, with the average time for a traditional lower jaw implant lasting about five months, and the upper jaw needing about six months. Newer technology can drop this time down to one visit for some implants.…
