The specific task I choose to give an example of is the right direction/communication. I believe direction and communication are very important pieces of delegation because nurses need to properly communicate with and direct their UAP how to accurately complete tasks. If the communication is delayed or impacted this can create negative outcomes for patient care.

I will be sure that my nursing assistants are comfortable with their tasks and if they are not, I will have them complete the task (within appropriate and legal circumstances) for their own experience. I have learned the importance of supervision and evaluation through this experience. I will be aware, as a nurse, to not abandon my nursing assistants after giving him or her a task or make them feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed.
