Definition Of Respect

The term respect brings to mind many different meanings depending to different people. The most basic definition, that could be all in inclusive, is to hold something in high regard. A respectful attitude will smooth any relationship at school, work, or home. The three most important things to define respect are: why to show respect, who to respect, and how to gain respect.
Before knowing who to respect and how to gain respect one might ask, “Why show respect in the first place?” People show respect to get respect, which is the overall concept of respect. When people give respect they show that they think highly of that person and treat that person in a nice manner. As a result, people will get along and reduce the issues of conflict.
