Definition Essay: The Role Of Man In The Bible

This paper will be on the well asked question of “what is man?”. Man is a being that is different in all of it’s aspects, unique and not like any other animal on the planet, and is a being that is top of the food chain, but not everything is know about man. The question of “what is man” has been half was answered, but can not be fully answered until we get past the pearly gates of heaven, all we can is wonder, there are though small things that we can continue learn about man. Man is a being of many wonders that we just have to live with being. The first source that I'm using is the Bible. The Bible is a book that contains the word of God which tell many stories with wise life lessons behind them, it sets rules for man to follow (like the 10 commandments), it also tells us some defining features of what man is. The Bibles role is to show man away from it’s sinful ways and lead man on a different path, the right path. The Bible starts with the Old Testiment with the creation of man. The creation of man was on the sixth day of creation and God made man with the soil of the ground, and his name was Adam. The story of The Devil and Tom Walker is set in colonial New England and is centered on a man of self-centeredness and greed.The man of Greed was named Tom Walker. Tom Walker sold his soul to the devil for buried gold the devil offered him. The story is a old folks tale about selling your soul to the devil, though this one takes greed to a whole new level. Tom doesn't care about anything but money. Tom doesn't even care when his wife is murdered, he goes ad thanks the devil instead. The theme of The Devil and Tom Walker is the human act of sin in the form of greed, not caring about anything but ones self, and the things man would do for something small like
