I have had family members serving in different branches throughout the military. My grandfather was in the air force for sometime before he moved home to marry my grandmother. Although my story of courage isn’t drastic, I believe that is was just one of the stories and the perfect amount of courage needed to shape me into whom I am today. I play basketball for the girl’s team at Tooele High school. A few months ago I was playing in a rival game that honestly changed my life. We were down by two points, with about ten seconds left when one of my teammates got hurt and fouled. I was called in to take her place and could choose to shoot her foul shots, you can imagine the fear that I felt knowing I had to make both of those shots or we would lose. Although I felt fearful I knew that I wanted to be the courageous one and be the one to shoot the shots. My coach chose me and I stepped up to the line sinking the first shot. I was so relieved and my next thought was I was going to drain the second as well. As soon as that thought went through my head the rival team decided to call a time out. I would have to build up that courage all over again. That timeout only lasted thirty seconds but seemed like minutes. Timeout was over and I stepped back up to the line trying to find my courage again. I made the second shot and I remember feeling so accomplished and courageous that I had just made it possible for my team to win the
