According to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, friendship is the state of being friends. It then further defines a friend as one attached to another by affection or esteem. While these definitions are accurate they do not fully define friendship. In my opinion, friendship is a mutual relationship between two or more people, who often share a common interest, affection, or esteem. Most often when we think of friendships, we think of the personal friends whom we share common interests with. These types of friendships can form some of the longest lasting and strongest friendships of all. I have a small circle of “best friends” that all share a very strong passion for technology and gaming. We like to call our group the “Circle of Geeks”. It is this strong passion we share that really keeps our group together, despite some of us having multiple personality clashes in the past. Forgiveness is a common characteristic in friendship. Since some of the people in my group of friends have personality conflicts, arguments and disagreements happen occasionally. I had a falling out with one of them that resulting in us not communicating with each other for a couple months. We eventually decided that the conflict was not worth …show more content…
My friends, David and Arlene, once asked me if I could do them a favor. They were planning a 10-day cruise to Alaska and needed someone to house-sit and take care of their dogs while they were away.
