Health system has focused on treating people after they get sick. "Disease prevention programs focus on keeping people healthy. Health promotion engages and empowers individuals and communities to engage in healthy behaviors, and make changes that reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases and other morbidities." A person can prevent the risk from disease, as making positive diet and way of life improvements. Eating a good food, getting enough exercise and refraining from smoke and alcohol. A disease is an abnormal situation that effect all an organism and that consists of a disorder of a structure or function. The fact that a disease is often construed as a medical condition associated with specific symptoms.

A prevention is an act of stopping something from happening or arising. Some health experts talk about categories of prevention.
