Thrombosis What is It?
Thrombosis is a clotting of blood which can break loose and can block blood flow from your lungs (PE) this effect is called VTE ( venous thromboembolism) which is a combination of PE and DVT (deep vein thrombosis.) What Does it Do?
A lack of movement can create fat deposits with thickening at a junction (or split) in the veins. If it does not get treated then, the effects are starting to become fatal because embolus (or fat in veins) begin to break free causing bleeding inside the vein with inflammation of the vein causing it to be a bit narrow. Calcification start to appear (calcium salt.) The last step is fatal because when the inflammations stop it turns into a defect in …show more content…
Avoid sitting. If you've had surgery or have been in the bed, try to get moving as soon as possible. If you're sitting for a while, do not to cross your legs because this can limit blood flow.
Make lifestyle changes. Lose weight and quit smoking, obesity and smoking increase your risk of deep vein thrombosis.
Get regular exercise. Exercise lowers your risk of blood clots, which is of particular importance for people who have to sit a lot or travel frequently.
How Much People get Thrombosis? The precise number is unknown but an estimated 900,000 people in United States of America are affected with DVT/PE, which is 1-2 people in 1,000 every year. It is also estimated that 60,000-100,000 die of DVT and PE, 10-30 percent die within 1 month of diagnosis. ¼ or 25 percent will die as their first symptom of PE. 50% will have long term complications. 33 percent will have it appear again later in time.
