The biome I chose is the Temperate Deciduous Forest. The biome is located around mid-latitude, between polar and tropical regions. This includes the eastern half of North America, the middle of Europe, southwest Russia, Japan, eastern China, Middle East coast of Paraguay, New Zealand, and southwestern Australia. The Temperate Deciduous Forest is broken down into 5 different zones. The first zone being the tree stratum zone where the trees range from 60-100 feet tall. The second zone is small trees and saplings. Number three is shrubs along with number four being herbs, like a fern. Lastly, the fifth zone is ground where mosses grow. Animals found in the temperate deciduous forest are squirrels, rabbits, birds, deer, and black bears. Some of the animals adapt by hibernating during the winter season to store energy and live off the land

Plants and animals that are non-native mostly are harmful to an environment. When plants and animals are introduced and they are harmful they can kill other plants and animals that are native. Although we cannot always control the invasive species that come into the specific biome there are ways to help either prevent some of them or help get rid of them. These reasons, among others, are why this biome only has pieces of the original temperate deciduous forest left.
There are however things we can do to help slow down, if not stop, the killing of these forests. One thing you can do is to recycle, and if you do then maybe recycle more. This allows less trees to be cut because less new pieces of paper are being used. Another way to help this biome is to use cloth, and not paper. When you use cloth instead of paper less trees are being cut to make paper products. Lastly you can drive less to help save the temperate deciduous forest. When you drive it creates exhaust which contributes to make acid rain which kills
