This problem hurt both the athletes and the league; student athletes have found other ways of getting money to pay for another necessity. Students now are selling their own merchandise and memorabilia to make a money to spend, but it’s against the leagues regulation and students are often suspended for a short amount of time. It is interned hurts the college teams overall performance of the season and doesn’t look good for the league if they cannot control their own player. Being in a league the doesn’t give their athletes money for playing a big time spot such as football does stress many college athletes; big football star like James Winston, Todd Gurley, and Johnny Manziel have had a few runs in with selling their own merchandise. The league has addressed the problem, but in an unreasonable way to punish the student for trying to make a profit in an already big league as the NCAA. The fact is that college athletes need to be paid for their time in the league. I would propose that the NCAA should create bank accounts for athletes and put a certain amount of money in those accounts, so that the athletes can spend; while having a close eye on what they purchase with the debit card that is assigned to each …show more content…
Many banks have student accounts that work pretty well for students to manage their accounts and monitor their accounts very easily. As a big organization the NACC is well put to keep an eye on many of the student’s accounts and make sure that students don’t spend money on items that they shouldn’t buy; the most important part of this plan is to give student money to spend but as well to keep them from buying dangerous produces. The things that a college athlete has to face is already tough for many of them from injuries to being stressed and worn out money should be the last thing they sure worry out. And there are many ways to make this plan come to life with a partnership with a bank that can give the athletes account the NCAA could still be making money off of the player, but this time will be able to keep their players a little more
