David Letterman was born on April 12, 1947. David Letterman was very famous because of his shows that he was in. David was a very popular guy just because of all the viewers he had on his show Late Night With David Letterman. He was on many shows growing up and then he got his own TV show and he became even more popular. David Letterman was very shy as a kid and didn’t want to be in front of cameras a lot until he got his own show. David said, he was very excited about having his own show.
David Letterman always said “but i’m not malicious” because he was talking about his humor to his viewers(“David Letterman” 2). David Letterman sometimes faced some controversies that he called “Lettermanesque.” He only had these on certain times and it’s only because of the people. He said that they were hard to get through but he got over them really quick(“David Letterman” 3).
David Letterman cultivated a strong reputation that many celebrities had during that time. His reputation was so strong because of all the people that watched his shows(“David Letterman” 2).

David became really good friends with a lot of people just from all of his shows. David became really good friends with Doc Severinson and Johnny Carson while on his show. As he started noticing all of his viewers get noticed that there was a lot of young people but some old people “were also” in the crowd. There was people from the age of eighteen to the age of thirty four watching his show. People were very interested in avid and they became really good friends with him. David became very popular in his years that he was on tv. That all changed once he retired from all shows. He retired at the age of seventy and then he started to lose all the attention he had.
