Physical, emotional, and sexual are all forms of abuse. For physical abuse, the incidents may seem minor compared to those seen on the news or the internet, but there is no "better" or "worse" form of abuse. It is still abuse if the partner stops after the abused becomes compliant or passive. For emotional abuse, it is to eat away at the abused and break down their self-worth. Emotional abuse can consist of name-calling, shaming, and other examples of verbal abuse. Many people tend to believe that since physical abuse can leave scars, that emotional abuse isn't as damaging. It can, in fact, leave the abused psychologically and mentally damaged. Sexual abuse can be categorized within physical, It is where someone is forced to do sexual acts, even if the sexual acts were consensual before. ("Learn," para. 4).
Many statistics were taken from dating violence. One in three teens in the united states have experienced dating violence. One in ten have been purposely hit while in a relationship. Women, between the ages of 16-24 experience more abuse in their relationships. Violent tendencies begin in early teens to late teens. ( "Dating," Para. 2)
Imagine one last time, how going through this would feel. All the physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. All the psychological problems that may come out of it. Imagine being controlled, and being a part of those statistics. Dating violence goes on, and on, and
