In 1285, the pair married but Dante was in love with another girl, Beatrice, that he had met when both were very young (in 1274) . Dante and Beatrice had met only a couple of times during their lifetime, they never hold hands, nor kissed not even touched and it wasn’t even sure if Beatrice loved Dante, however this girl became one of the driving reasons, together with politics and literature, of his life. He is considered to be the father of the Italian language because he had boosted the Italian language, leaving to the writers which came after him, a tool that would have allowed them to talk about everything. The Encyclopedia Treccani states that 90% of the basic Italian vocabulary in use today is already in The Divine Comedy. He formed the basis of the intellectual vocabulary and language, structuring and strengthening the syntax, making it capable of complex arguments and therefore laying the foundations for a language that would have replaced Latin. After him, the Italian language could only be the Florentine.
