Actions can be taken, however, in order to better please both parties. Rather than making it legal for anyone to carry concealed weapons, there can be requirements put in place in order to allow people to do so, and also creating a safer and more stable environment. An idea is that in order to carry concealed weapons on campus, one must not only possess a government issues concealed carry permit, but also be trained in carrying. The training should be a requirement that must be taken yearly, or even twice a year in order to ensure that the person carrying will know how to proper use the weapon and will know how to react in situations where it is needed. Another idea is that in order to carry concealed weapons on campus the person must go through a psych evaluation which cannot ensure anything, but can better prevent fatal psychiatric breaks. By prohibiting it, people are left defenseless against others who carry and use weapons whether the law against concealed carry on campuses is in place or not. The topic is controversial because some people believe that having guns or other concealed weapons around causes a greater risk to other people nearby rather than providing greater safety to everyone. It must be taken into consideration, however, that the slight risk that might be come with the presence of concealed weapons could be outweighed by the protection and security that they bring not only to the holder, but to nearby people. As a reminder, people that use weapons to attack, most often do not even possess concealed carry permits which means that the weapons will be used regardless of whether or not people are able to carry protection legally. The chances of predators using their weapons, however, decreases with the knowledge that others are possible carrying concealed weapons and have the means to defend themselves if needed. If people are uncomfortable carrying weapons, that is their personal decision, but others should not be restricted from their own protection because of others. Each individual should be given their own choice as to whether or not they pack concealed weapons. It is not right to take away their protection and leave them defenseless against
