Cyclin D1 (CCND1) gene has served as an important gene in relation to the human cell cycle and cyclin D1 is known to regulate during the cell cycle. In this research paper, cyclin D1 is examined in different breast cancer patient tumors. An amplification of the cyclin D1 protein is different in comparison between heterogeneity and homogeneity. In relation to sample size, this research involved 147 patients and samples from their tumors. These patients had breast cancer and breast cancer is very prominent in the United States of America. It is known that the amplification of cyclin D1 can lead to the development of cancer. According to this research paper the increased production of cyclin D1 homogeneity has been linked to the early precursors of some breast cancers.

The research problem proposed in this research paper was to examine the cyclin D1 gene in relation to breast cancer. This research paper focuses on heterogeneity and homogeneity of the CCND1 amplification. To my understanding, cyclin D1 is a normal protein that plays a specific role in the regulation of the G1 phase in the cell cycle. G1 phase is that stage that begins right after mitosis and where …show more content…
Although that claim is in the title, the idea that homogeneity could be a factor did not appear until later in the paper. In terms of the results section being in agreeance is not valid. In the paper, CCND1 amplification was not confirmed by other studies. In the discussion, the results were discussed as it related to the hypothesis. Not only did the authors elaborate that the FISH methodology produced results that identified the CCND1 amplification of breast cancer, but also discussion heterogeneity and how it still proses a problem. The research paper goes on to say that the studies of this type of research of very small and that there was a new method they used for the
