Current Event Topic: Brain to Brain Interface
Statement:
Technology is growing worldwide. If it keeps on growing this way our generation’s technology will be nothing compared to the upcoming generation. Technology is improving from time to time such as: we went from keypad phones to touch-screen phones also we went from regular time telling watches to smart watches. The technology which interests me the most is the brain to brain interfaces. Brain to Brain interfaces is a direct communication from one brain to another without speech. The interactions can be between humans or between humans and animals. Brain to brain interface is made possible through the reading of the brainwaves. These two-technologies …show more content…
The major consequence which I would face would be making sure that the person’s brain is not messed around with.
6. Analyze the case using the 5 objective ethical theories
Kantianism:
If the brain to brain interfaces was universally applied it would cause a lot of problems. The reason why it would cause a lot of problems is because there would be many miscommunication happening also it will raise many problems where sharing ideas will lead to who’s it is to be credited to. In this case, it will be wrong if either one of the person through brain to brain interface makes the other work for them. This will not be moral because Kantianism states that it is wrong for one person to use another person as means to an end.
Act Utilitarianism:
Brain to brain interface will level the happiness and the actions will be moral because it can be used to find what’s going on in another person’s brain. For example, a parent can use it to find out what their child is thinking. According, to this it will make a level of happiness which will make the actions moral.

The second condition will also be meet because the technology will be available for everyone in the society.
Virtue Ethics: In this case, the brain to brain interface is a way of communicating form one brain to another. Virtue ethics applies here because the people who are being used as the experiment must be honest always during the experiment. If the people are not honest then it will defeat the purpose of the experiment.
7. Identify and Apply any clauses in the two codes of ethics
1.8 Honor confidentiality:
This clause applies to my case because brain to brain interfaces involves data which can’t get into wrong hands. When experimenting with two people there is a lot of dealing with data. Also, the people who are being experimented on communicate with each other and read each other’s minds. They must honor this clause because it states that the ethical concern is to respect all obligations of confidentiality of the other person’s privacy.
3.10 Ensure adequate testing, debugging, and review of software and related documents on which they
