This article is saying that corporate leaders need to take their blinders off. They need to look around and be aware of what they are doing to others both in the corporate world and with their customers. If you don't look around and see what you are doing to every aspect of your business you are putting the business in jeopardy. Also, learning that even small ethic problems can grow into larger ones needs to be thought about too. Just like in Business Ethics(Jennings, 2012) page 197 and they talk about "Turning a Blind Eye". By not looking around and seeing what is going on leaders are letting the little things get past . Small unethical things can be seen as "not a big deal" until everyone is doing it. There are always "Gray Areas" that aren't looked at that could cause a major issue if everyone does it. Just like the gray areas (in Case 4.21 of (Jennings, 2012) page 275) when home owner that could afford the payments on their home but because their home value had gone down so much that if they wanted to sell it wouldn't sell for what they owe on the balance of their mortgage. Even when a player, like Jose Canseco, (page 139 paragraph 5) (Jennings, 2012) was suspected of using steroids, he wasn't asked to take a drug test. No one even talked to him about it. When it comes to the China Recalls , they must have the focus to produce products without looking at possible recalls. Product recalls can cause a major financial burden on a company but the focus is to get the product out for sale, make money and then find a way to fix it. One things that is done for the GM recalls was that they passed the financial burden on to the suppliers so that they could focus on building new vehicles.
