Curacao (of Kòrsou) is an island in the southern Caribbean near the South American coast. The capital of Curacao is Willemstad. Curacao is one of the four countries of the Dutch Kingdom (other countries are Aruba, St Maarten and Netherlands). Previously, the island was part of the Netherlands Antilles (with Bonaire, St Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius).
Curacao is famous for its gorgeous sandy beaches, excursion to the nearby volcanic rock known as “Klein Curacao” (Little Curacao), casinos, nightlife and eponymous blue liqueur (Curacao Liqueur).
Official languages are Papiamentu, Dutch and English. Most residents have Papiamentu as mother languages while Dutch is the official language since the colonial era. English
