Cultural Issues In Peru

The Republic of Peru is a country situated in the South America. It is a country with different habitats from barren plains to high mountains and tropical Amazon rainforest with Amazon River flowing in the east. The Peruvian population projected in 2015 was 31.2 million. The main spoken language of Peru is Spanish. There is a combination of cultural traditions in Peru due to which there is great variety in cuisine, art, music and literature.

Peru is a representative democratic republic; it is divided into a total of 25 regions. Boesten, J. (2010). The capital of Peru is the city of Lima. The Human Development Index HDI of the country is high and the poverty level is about 25.8%. The economy of Peru is ranked as upper middle income and is the 39th largest economy of the world according to World Bank. Peru is among the fastest growing economies of the world with lowest inflation rate and decreasing unemployment. The economic activities happening in Peru are mainly fishing, agriculture and mining. Due to combination of different traditions and creeds Peru enjoys around 3000 festivals every twelve months followed by different carnivals, feasts, rituals and commemoration of freedom. They rejoice the eternal kindness of Mother Earth in every region. Peruvian gastronomy is an additional expression of a nationalized distinctiveness that holds together manifold cultures synchronized in one region. They are experts in experimenting with new flavors in their cuisine. Early Peruvians were marvelous handicraft artists with extremely developed practical expertise. The innate heritage is still witnessed in Peru and the artifacts are greatly treasured around the globe. Music and dance has played a vital role in the Peruvian culture since pre-Hispanic times.
