The CDC recently published the guidelines for prescribing opioids for chronic pain. These guidelines are intended to improve the way opioids are prescribed to ensure patients have access to safer, more effective chronic pain treatment while reducing the risk of opioid use disorder, overdose, and death. Best practice guidelines will be used to develop the policy for targeted patient populations, rooming procedures, and the patient contract. A work flow plan will be created for patient rooming, Psychiatric Nurse phone triage, Medical Assistant patient preparation, Communication team scheduling, and access to Narcan in Urgent Care. Crystal Run Healthcare’s collaboration with Catholic Charities will be clearly defined through initial and ongoing treatment team meetings, as well as maintaining a Medication Assisted Treatment patient registry.
