Preparing for a competition involves mental and physical strategy, team work, and solid preparation. One of the most important things I had to do when preparing to compete was to train hard every week in the many months before the competition. My CrossFit regimen was to train 5 days a week, sometimes twice a day, including some Saturday classes. Everything I worked on in class helped improve my performance with emphasis on strength and conditioning. Strength and conditioning is the physical and physiological development of athletes for elite sport performance. Stephanie and I needed to work together and complete 5 exercises: 100 deadlifts at 135lbs, 100 back squats, 10 tire flip, 50 bench presses, and a 500 meter farmers carry also at 135lbs, for time. This meant whoever finished the fastest won! We were ready, heads were in the game, the adrenaline was pumping through our veins, this was the competitive edge I have looked for. With a tenacious performance, we finished with the fastest time of 4 minutes 36 seconds. The day was a huge win for the Barbell Republic team, we took the win in both the male and female partner
