Critical thinking is the mmode of thinking about any subject, problem or content where the thinker improves the quality of his or her thinking by skillfully analyzing, assessing and recontructing it. It is self- directed, self- disciplined, self- monitored and self- corrective thinking, Critical thinking entails effective commmunication and problem- solving abilities, as well as a commitment to overcome our native egocentrism and sociocentrism. Critical thinking is making reasoned judgements that aare logical and well thought out, basically, it is a way of thinking in which you don 'tcimply accept all arguments and conclusions you are exposed to but rather have an attitude involving questioning such arguments and conclusions. Critical thinking forces intellectual self improvement. Focusing on evidenve over emotion or ego allows you to think critically and consider hard facts as you assess your performance, it is inward- focusing. Basically the goal is to maximize one 's ability to think rationally and this sort of critical reflection is the key to improving your cognitive skills which in turn leads to increased overall intelligence and improved test performance. Critical thinking also allows you to become a better team player, there can be many answers to the same problem and realizing this is important to critical thinking processs. This allows one to be a better listener and collaborator when you 're working as part of a group. And being focused on logical reasoning rathen than on emotion or interpersonal team dynamics helps one to check their ego at the door, this way, one is more part of a team. Critical thinking also leads a more creative mindset and helps one to stay calm and rational under stress. One can rely on their logical decision making skills to make sound decisions even in very stressful situations.
