This was determined by identifying the type of glass and reconstructing the glass window in order to view the radial fracture. The UV flashlight caused the glass to fluoresce, thus indicating that the glass type was float glass. The float glass fragments were reconstructed to reveal the radial fracture. The radial fracture is a line that extends outward from the point of impact that breaks first on the side opposite of the force. The top of the glass formed a right angle with the conchoidal fracture lines and then curve down towards the bottom of the glass. This pattern suggests that the glass was broken from outside of the house. After dipping the glass in the liquid and observing the Becke line, the refractive index was calculated to be 1.42. This refractive index can be used to distinguish different types of glass from each other. This refractive index can help when trying to identify glass fragments found on a suspects clothing of on a victims
