Television shows such as Bones, Law and Order, and CSI Miami shows an extensive series of crime scene investigations. However, crime scene investigations are 10 times more complex that what television shows alludes. More work and time goes into an actual investigation and it can take years instead of a day’s time as displayed on television to solve a case. According to US Legal, “the goals and objectives of a crime scene investigation are the collection of evidence, preservation, packing, transportation, and documentation of physical evidence left a crime scene”, (US Legal, 2017). All of those are important because they help determine if the cause of death was natural, accidental, suicide, or homicide and leads to clues as of who the suspect

Interviewing is one of the many duties that give the investigator the opportunity to get evidence and testimony that will help establish facts and identifying possible suspects. Before interviewing the witnesses, they must be separated so they are not allowed to talk to each one another.
