Carmilla is home, sitting on her couch in her black sleep shorts and red tank. She’s off from work today and she couldn’t be happier. She got to sleep in, make some breakfast and now watch crappy game shows on the television. Having a screaming fight with Drew Carey on The Price is Right, the episode gets cut short by a news broadcast.

“This is Silas Breaking News. Good morning everyone. I am Julia Cochrane and I apologize for the interruption of The Price is Right. We have some breaking news concerning Silas’ infamous serial killer The Styria Slasher. Her phone starts to go off. She runs to her bedroom, and answers. “Hey Mattie.”

“Carmilla, did you see the broadcast?”

“Yes. I thought they were done for good.”

“It seems not. Chief Sheridan wants you at the scene ASAP.”

“Okay. I’m going to go shower quickly, and I’ll be there within an hour.”

“See you soon, partner.”

“Sorry Chief. I had to get to the station and pick up a squad car. Detective Belmonde told me she hitched a ride her from a rookie.”

“Okay. The body is in the kitchen.” Carmilla nods and proceeds to walk way. “Karnstein, wait.”

“What is it Chief?” She scratched her head, a tick she picked up on when she got out of the academy.”

“The feds are here. Agent Hollis and Agent Lawrence are inside. Play nice or you’re looking at desk duty.”

“Yes, Sir.” Carmilla walks away and into the house. “Hey,

Danny, just leave it for now. Let forensics come in and deal with the mess.” Laura looked over to Danny and shook her head.

“This case is ours, Elvira. Our killer is known to go over state lines, every so often. You just let us grown-ups do our job, and you can do whatever you’d like.” Agent Lawrence spit out.

“What is going on here?” Chief Sheridan walks in, watching the two women go at it.

“I’m just informing her of our jurisdiction, Chief.” Danny snarled.

“Yeah, by being a douchebag about it.” Chief glared at Carmilla as she began to mock Danny. “Oh I work for the FBI, I’m a grown up. Go control the traffic.”

“Enough, Carmilla. Go outside, NOW!” Carmilla walked out of the scene and over to her car. Agent Hollis followed her outside. Pulling up was LaF and J.P. who ran into the scene.

“Carm, wait.” Laura got to her car and stood in front of her. “I’m sorry about Agent Lawrence. She just has a thing for these types of crime. Don’t take it personally.”

“Look, cupcake. She’s right. This is your thing, not mine. I’m already in deep shit with Chief, so let me just control the perimeter and go on from
