“Liv, stop following me!” Pat shouts. “ I can go wherever I want to!” I clamor back. Grains of sand cave in and as I run to catch up with my older brother. Squinting my eyes at him while sneering, soon I was skipping forward. Letting out a sigh behind me, Pat decides to follow me on my tour down the beach.
After a few minutes, I hear, “Liv! Get over here.” Rushing over to him, in no time at all, I’m looking over his shoulder. A small, black shark tooth is being turned in his hand.
“I want it,” I state while lunging forward. Twisting out of my reach, Pat expertly takes the shark tooth from the sand while simultaneously taking a few steps back. “Pat, please give it to me.” I plead with him like my life depends on it. …show more content…
“Can I please, pretty please, have it, Pat?” Pat looks to the sky and contemplates for a moment.
“Tell you what, I'll keep this one and you can have the next one.”
“ But Pat…” I whine.
“Liv, trust me. I'm sure you'll get a better one.” He says as he takes off.
“That's if I ever find one,” I mutter under my breath. Pat smiles and keeps on walking. In moments I'm at the end of the beach, sulking, because I still don't have a shark tooth in my possession. Pat, on the other hand, keeps smiling. He really gets on my nerves sometimes I think to myself.
Halfway down the beach, almost back to where we started, I'm still sulking behind Pat. Then, right in front of my feet, is the biggest shark tooth I have ever seen. Too big for just one hand, I have to use both in order to pick it up.
“Pat,” I shout to him, “come look what I found!” Pat, already watching me, walks back leisurely.
“Who'd a thought,” said Pat.
“Mine is so much bigger than yours, Pat.” Back and forth, the shark tooth is waving in front of his face. I go off skipping back to where my parents were sitting, and then collapsing beside them with a large, content
