"The mall would be a perfect place to hideout!" One of the voices argued.

"No! You're so wrong! Those rotters are going to be crawling there!" another voice interjected. Who could be fighting at a time like this? I wondered. I cracked open the door slightly. Looking into the darkened room, I saw my two friends, Ann and Kim arguing. The art room they were in looked slightly bloody, yet still cleaner than most rooms I've seen. I turned my attention back to Kim and Ann. Their conversation began to turn violent.

"How would you know where to go?" Ann began to shout.

"Because I am the smart one, remember?" Kim responded angrily. Ann flipped Kim off causing Kim to cuss her out. Ann's face turned bright red with anger and pushed Kim into the table

I gave them each another hug before explaining the situation.

"We didn't know what was going on, so we hung out in here looking for a place to go," Ann explained.

"I know. I could hear you two arguing," I chuckled.

"I knew we would be found," Kim stated cockily, glaring at Ann.

"Well, we should go," I suggested, "Samie and Antoinette are waiting for me." They looked at me and their mouths dropped. "Come on, let's go," I said once more. They nodded their heads in response. Before we left the classroom, I grabbed a bag and stuffed it with scissors and X-Acto knives. Ann and Kim grabbed their backpacks from some chairs and threw several other supplies that could be useful. After our small raid, I directed for them to follow me out the side door of the classroom to meet the others. I cracked open the side door and scoped out the scene before walking outside with Ann and Kim by my side. We snuck around the building until we found Samie and Antoinette chatting quietly around the front.

"Madison, you're back. Great, now we can discuss a plan," Samie directed before noticing Kim and

Antoinette began explaining that we should raid the buildings for supplies. "Cool, we can split into teams," I replied. I paired everyone up and assigned them jobs. "Antoinette and Samie, you guys go to the cafeteria and collect food. Ann and Kim, you guys should go to the nurse's office to collect medical equipment. And I will explore around for survivors," I instructed, "We will all meet back in the art room." Everyone split into their groups and went to find supplies. When everyone left their own ways, I walked to the back of the main building. I could hear screams in the distance and decided to ignore them. There was a large latter leading to the top of the school. I decided to climb to the top and look around. There were fires and smoke covering half of the town. I could see people running in the streets from the creatures. Ambulance sirens rang throughout the streets. There were raids in stores. The sky was brighter, yet clouded with smoke and the gut wrenching smell of death. More screaming and cries could be heard from the top of the building and I decided to check my phone. I had 16 voicemails and over 20 text messages from various friends and family members. First, I listened to the voicemails. They were heartbreaking. The first voicemail was from my mom. She was crying and telling me how much she loved me, but it cut off short. The second voicemail was from my dad, I could hear sirens in the background of his. My dad's voice no
