Many years after watching TV shows with cowboys in them, I have realized that cowboys never take things lying down. Cowboys are not procrastinators. When they want something they are very determined to go after it and succeed. Cowboy actor and singer Roy Rogers lives up to the roles he plays on the screen by saying, “Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.” I feel the same way when it comes to my religion, my high school career, and my college career. I am an avid student when it comes to God. I try not to allow my relationship with Him come to wither. My Pastor always says, that you’re as close to the Lord as you want to be. I feel this to be true and I also feel it hinders the good things He has instore for you. I am aware of the things I need to do in order to go off to college. If I don’t do these things, I’ll have to pay for college. The steps I’m taking to make sure I’m sent off to college without too much stress on my mother’s wallet are taking my ACT early to see what I need to improve on before college applications start and building my resume before I begin to apply for scholarships. No one I know now has gone through the steps needed to go to college right out of high school. The Early Middle College at Bennett has been very open and informative about the things I need to do in order to be successful. Before coming to the middle college I didn’t know anything I needed to do to get into a college, besides good grades. I didn’t know how to go about getting scholarships or how to sign up for the ACT; The Middle College has been what has put me on the right track and I’m certain they would not allow me to sit on the tracks and get run
