Cost effectiveness is very important in the health care industry. When a person is cost effective, they use the least amount of money possible to carry out a task. New technologies in the health care world are creating problems for being cost effective. In the past, nurses ordered what equipment they thought would be easiest for them. This lead to the nurses not being cost effective. Now nurses have to determine if a patient really needs this equipment to increase their health. This conserves resources and money, leading to the possibility of additional health care services (Yoder-Wise, 2015).
