“Who is next?” In a cosmetologist business many people who work in this field have to have people skills. In order to understand the world of cosmetology, one must take into account the working conditions salary, and the best prepare one for this profession is the University of Cosmetology Act and Science (UCAS).
Cosmetologists need to have the technical skills to perform a wide range of beauty treatments the creative skills and vision to identify what each individual client need and the people skills to effectively communicate with customers (ehow contributor). Work sched ends may include evenings and weekends, the time when beauty salons and barber shop are busiest. Many workers those who are self- employed, determine their own schedules. In 2008, about 29 percent of barbers, hairstylists and cosmetologists worked part time, and 14 percent had variable schedules. Barbers, cosmetologists and other personal appearance worker usually work in clean, pleasant surroundings with good lighting and ventilation. Most work in a salon or barbershop, although some may work in a spa, hotel, or resort. Good health and stamina are important, because those workers are on their feet for most of their shift. Prolonged exposure to some hair and nail chemicals may cause irritation, so protective clothing, such as plastic gloves or aprons, may be worn. Cosmetologists provide beauty services and treatments to clients. To work as a cosmetologists, you need a professional licence issued from the state you intend to work in. These licenses are only available after you complete a state- approved cosmetology training program before investing your time and money in a training your program it is wise to know the industry growth, where to work and the average pay.
