Why do people’s attitude and tone change? Author’s make conflict and drama in books to change characters actions towards others. The attitude of a character can change as they go through a journey and travel from page to page. For example, in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hermia is trapped in Athenian Law because of love and Theseus’ decision makes him change from a stern churlish man into a loving and accepting human being. Isaiah Castro The Devil of Tom Walker The initial segment of this story sets up the setting, acquaints us with our principle characters, and gives the inducing occurrence that will lead into whatever is left of the story. The underlying portrayal of Tom Walker concentrates intensely on his stingy inclinations, which shows immediately that these are what will bring about inconvenience for him. “The Love of the Last Tycoon” written by F. Scott Fitzgerald should remain on the reading list for many reasons. The novel is written in two points of view, has a wide spectrum of characters, and has multiple different conflicts. The author wrote this story for an advanced reader, who is able to understand who is speaking, and keep track of the multiple events that go on simultaneously. The novel is very short, but in this case the saying “quality not quantity” comes into play. The book can also be very confusing due to the fact that the author died before he wrote the story.…

The first movie that I chose to discuss is “Crash”. This movie showcased many people’s perceptions/beliefs regarding race and different cultures. Sadly this is not just in the movies, but still happening every day. We live in a free country and everyone is supposed to be afforded the same opportunities to work, be educated, and live free from prejudices and discrimination, and yet these things still occur. Why do we judge another person by the color of their skin, the language they speak, or the clothes they wear?…

Conflict, whether internal or external, is an important part of our lives, and is often the foundation of many stories. It has negative and positive effects, but overall society would not function the way it does if there was no such thing as conflict. We would act almost as machines; programed to work in a manner where we all do one certain thing, there would be no progress in anything; no one would want to go against what everyone else did. Most people struggle with their own thoughts and feelings. Many times people may ask themselves if they are doing the right thing.…
