In all honesty, George by far chose the right option. The most likely option is for Lennie to get caught by Curley and his men. They would most likely end up making Lennie suffer by torturing him and eventually kill him. "'We oughtta let 'im get away. You don't know that Curley. Curley gon'ta wanta get 'im lynched. Even though it was wholeheartedly the right option, he still killed Lennie. Whether Lennie is lynched by Curley and his men, or locked up in a mental hospital for the rest of his life, he still killed Lennie. There is no escaping that. He has a moment of silence after killing Lennie, and barely whispers when talking to Slim. “George’s voice was almost a whisper.” (Steinbeck 107). In the movie, he beings to have flashbacks of all the good memories that he made with Lennie before the movie ends. Out of all the 3 options that would kill Lennie, the one that he chose was the best option, as Lennie would not have to suffer
