According to the website entitled e-medicine health, “the term concussion describes an injury to the brain resulting from an impact to the head.” Short-term and long-term problems can result from a concussion; however, it is not classified by the medical profession as a life-threating injury. Figure 1 depicts what happens to the head in order to obtain a concussion. The head throws your brain back toward the opposite side which can potentially cause damage to both sides of the brain.
