SL Text 8: Had I a sucking-pig
Ere he had grown as big
Even as a pint bottle or a rolling-pin,
He should have learned to be
Faithful and true to thee,
Yes, his first squeak should be
"Comrade Napoleon" (Animal Farm, 1970: 58).

TL Text 8:
لو كان لدي خنزير رضيع،
فقبل أن ينمو ويكبر
في حجم الزجاجة او مرقاقة العجين،
فلا بد أن يتعلم
ليكون صادقا ومخلصا لك........
أجل صرخته الاولى يجب أن تكون
أيها الرفيق نابليون ! (مزرعة الحيوانات، الفصل الثامن، ص 152).

Considering example 8, Napoleon has now taken the title of “Leader” and has dozens of other complimentary titles as well. Minimus has written a poem in praise of the Napoleon and inscribed it on the barn wall. The poem describes that everyone in Animal Farm should be faithful to

The suggested translation above transfers the paranomic pun to the TL, by adding the word ("صغير" English "small") to the Arabic translation. Thus, the Arabic words صغير، كبير)) exhibit similarities in their first phoneme in Arabic, so the paranomic pun has kept in the SL Text.

SL Text 9:
"Mrs. Joe has been out a dozen times, looking for you, Pip. And she's out now, making it a baker's dozen."
"Is she?"
"Yes, Pip," said Joe; "and what's worse, she's got Tickler with her.
At this dismal intelligence, I twisted the only button on my waistcoat round and round, and looked in great depression at the fire. Tickler was a wax-ended piece of cane, worn smooth by collision with my tickled frame (Great Expectations (1861: 8 -9).
TL Text 9 :
"لقد خرجت السيدة "جو" تبحث عنك اثنتي عشرة مرة يا "بيب". وقد خرجت الان لتجعل منها ثلاثة عشرة مرة"
-"هل فعلت حقا؟"
قال "جو": نعم يا بيب. والاسوأ أنها أخذت "تيكلر" معها .

Tickler is the cane which Mrs. Joe uses to inflict punishment on Pip. The actual name, tickler, conjures an image of a child laughing as he is tickled by an instrument and "tickled as an adjective" means happy and pleased. Here the pun is based on a paranomy (slight differences in both spelling and sounds). The example involves sound similarities between the "tickler" and "tickled". In Arabic, the pun used above is called مضارع"" "", i.e., words linked with each other on the basis of closeness and similarities of sounds. The pun involve sound similarities between the words "tickler and tickled". In Arabic the translator translates "tickler" as "تيلكر " and on other place as "عصا الخيرزان" (English kind of cane) while "tickled" is translated as لأضرب"" (English to beat). In the Arabic translation, the paranomic relationship that exists between these two items is clearly lost. Therefore, the translation strategy that has been used by her is pun to non-pun. To give a similar sense:

The American writers following the end of the Civil War often feature situations where individuals face confrontations of various kinds. The confrontations that are included in nineteenth century American literature are important to examine because they allow the current reader, along with readers past, to become knowledgeable of the issues that were relevant and interesting at the time of their publication. The included confrontations need to be exposed. First, characters in literary fiction in the second half of the nineteenth century find themselves in confrontations with nature. A prime example of a confrontation between characters and nature occurs in Hamlin Garland’s story, “Under the Lion’s Paw”, when the Haskins family explains that their misfortunes were a result of ravaging grasshoppers.…

On behalf of the Immigration and Citizenship Society of Canada, it is suffice to say that the Canadian government through the bills of C-51 and C-24 are ruining the prestigious reputation of Canada as a country who welcomes and takes care of refugees. Our target is the people of the government, and the use of boundary making due to these laws is wrong. Everyone deserves a change at life in Canada, and these legislations do the opposite of that. These bills need to either be revoked or severely altered in a way that not every immigrant in Canada with a citizenship is monitored as a possible terrorist. The immigrants of Canada are people who should be glorified for choosing this country and wishing to work, pay taxes and contribute…

This creates a sense of moral duty to some conservatives in regards to the current war in the Middle East. Al-Solaylee creates the impression that the American invasion is simply working towards restoring their previous way of life through his portrayal of Yemen in the 1940’s. Al-Solaylee’s story about his family is used to paint a picture about the struggles and changes in Yemen and implies it to the entire Middle East with no counter arguments. The complexities of human nature often mean that there is misconception and confusion with the different ways we communicate. This can significantly impact how individuals interact with one another and how different things are interpreted.
