The poem “Rhapsody on a Windy Night” has the setting of a long windy night. There isn’t anyone on the street except for the main person in the poem. Who is walking down a street where the street lamps are so distracting they give him strange images and he starts to see things.
The scene of the poem “After” is set after a duel. With the winner standing over the corpse of his rival, he feels avenged at first, but then begins to think if killing his opponent has brought him any real satisfaction. By the end of the poem, he regrets killing the man and doubts the wisdom of settling conflicts by violence.
Both poems end differently
