A modern perspective of Franklin’s self-promotion through letters is the use of Facebook Messenger and wall posts. Social media sites like Facebook allow people to feel connected and enable a large backing from friends. Many people also use Facebook to soothe tensions between them and another person like Franklin did because in many cases it can be a little easier than approaching them face-to-face.
