Introduction
An author strives to pass information by carefully crafting characters and giving powers, identity, internal strength and special knowledge to maneuver through life’s setback as he or she sees fit. This is similar approach applied by Max Barry in Lexicon. In particular, her house is painted as a shield to close the world outside the door by confining her whole essence in a shuttered, dusty and dark place.
