The hypothesis was rejected after the testing due to certain chemicals not performing what was standardized and predicted by the hypothesis. According to the overall averages, the number one most effective was Betadine with an average of 36.33mm, Hand soap was second, third was Lysol, Isopropyl alcohol scored fourth, fifth place was Germ X, and seventh had the smallest average of 7mm which was Neosporin.Betadine was expected to have a high score due to its popularity in treating wounds but the products with the shocking results were Germ X and isopropyl alcohol. Both chemicals are made from alcohol that is said to be effective against bacteria but both scored very low. One bacteria that can be used is Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus is a harmless type flora found in the human digestive system.If there is no need to replace the type of bacteria used instead it should be chemicals with different base ingredients than the ones tested.When comparing.When comparing the two common household cleaners Lysol and rubbing alcohol, Lysol is a better cleaner due to the results of the lab showing the overall average of 28.42mm for Lysol compared to rubbing alcohols which were 14.66mm. Comparing the 3 wound care products zones of inhibition to see which one had the best overall average Betadine was 36.33mm, hand soap had the second largest of 33.75mm, and Neosporin had a very low 7mm. These results tell that Betadine is the best wound care product out of the three. The last category of products where hand cleaners and consisted of Germ-X and hand soap.
