He is stranded on the island for twelve years and throughout the twelve years he is able to use his magical powers to gain control of the island. With control of this island he has a massive storm created by Ariel (one of his servants that is a spirit) to shipwreck his brother Antonio, to get revenge on him after he banished him. This shipwreck ends up stranding a crew of King Alonso, Antonio, Sebastian, Ferdinand, and Gonzalo to the island, Prospero sends Ariel to watch the crew. While this is happening Ferdinand and Miranda end up falling in love and making the decision to get married. Caliban tries to overthrow Prospero with two other men from the shipwreck but he stops them. Morbius is stranded on a planet with his daughter. This may be by choice that they are stranded on Altair IV but it is the same concept as Prospero and Miranda being alone on the island. Prospero uses his magic and Ariel to shipwreck his brother and Dr. Morbius uses his subconscious, to have the ID monster to attack the fleet and the ship, which he is not fully aware that he sent the monster but it is something that influences his actions. Morbius believes that he has got the Krell technology down just like Prospero has mastered his magic. The technology in Forbidden Planet is symbolizing the magic that is used by Prospero in The Tempest, however not as quite as successful. John Adams the commander of the fleet ends up falling in love with Altair, which this is portraying Ferdinand and Miranda in The Tempest falling in love. They end up being together as she finally falls for him at the end of the movie. Robby the Robot just like Ariel is a servant to their master as they are always getting called upon, trying to beneficial, and try to conform to their master’s commands.
