Snapping your fingers can have a different meaning in different countries. In my country which is Mexico, when you snap your fingers to someone it means that you need to hurry up, or do the task that you are doing a little faster. Depending on the situation you are in, the person can take it either like a habitual mannerism or it can be a bad education mannerism. When you snap your fingers to a friend, they normally take it as a habitual mannerism; however, something you cannot do is snap your fingers to your professor. Comparing Mexico to America, I can say that both countries are very similar on this subject. For what I have seen in America, they do not use this mannerism as much as we do in Mexico.
