In the book Slam, Greg harris went to Carver school. Then, Slam had to move schools not because he wanted to but because he had to. Slam then started to attend to Latimer. Slam didn't do so good in school. Slam didn't get along with this one teacher named Mr. Parrish. Mr. Parrish didn't like Slam and Slam had a little hatred towards Mr. parrish too. He had attitude, and a lot of it. All he cared about was him self and how he was gonna do in life. Basketball was the only thing Slam was in love with at first. As the story kept going on and a lot of people started to help Slam. Just like Mitsha helped him in school. Mitsha was a good impact on Slams life because she cared for Slam. Slam didn't really have anyone that cared for him besides his mom and brother Derek. Slam then realized that school was important in his life. So, Slam started to study and lose the attitude. His grandma was another person who helped Slam understand things. She helped him understand that no one's gonna care about how he does in life. That really got to Slam when they had that conversation. By the end of the book Slam turned into a more responsible person. He became a man and owned up to responsibilities like getting his homework done, and changing his attitude towards his teacher and coaches.
