Comparing Beowulf And Achilles In The Iliad

What is the true definition of being a hero? Some might say Batman or Superman but in this case it would have to be Beowulf and Achilles. While reading about Beowulf in Beowulf and Achilles in the Iliad people can now gain a little more knowledge about what true epic hero’s are and what they did to get the titles of epic hero’s. Although Beowulf and Achilles are fears and heroic warriors, they both come from two very distinct cultures where what they fight portrays their heroic deeds.
Beowulf and Achilles both are epic heroes but both come from different cultures. Beowulf was an Anglo Saxon, warriors who are strong, intelligent, and courageous, a person who was willing to face any odds. For example Beowulf showed all the characteristics of
