Amir and Hassan were the typical 12 year old boys in Afghanistan who enjoys flying kites. Hassan was Amir’s servant but that did not change their friendship. Amir was a coward as a young boy and had Hassan stand up for him, because he could not stand up for himself. Some of Amir’s cowardly actions he lost a friend and had to move to America because a war broke out. Amir is all grown up and gets a call from an old friend that told him he needed to come back to Afghanistan, he had a chance to be good again.
