His rule became the opposite of prosperous for the Roman Empire. Tiberius was a cold and cruel ruler who did not accomplish much for the Roman Empire. Tiberius his himself on an island called Capri. The only person allowed to access this island was Sejanus, his ally who helped him govern the empire. One day Tiberius realized that Sejanus was becoming so powerful that his position as ruler was at risk. Tiberius sent a letter to the Senate saying that Sejanus was traitors. Sejanus was put in prison and many of his family members were killed causing a massacre in Rome.
