Over 25 million copies have been sold of the acclaimed novel, The Great Gatsby. Despite the book's popularity it can be debated whether or not it was better or worse than the Movie. After comparing both forms of the story, the medium that best tells the story of The Great Gatsby is clear. The movie is most effective as a work of art because of it’s ability to give more details about supporting characters in the story, portray events in an exciting and effective way to the audience and it’s ability to clearly depict the complexity of Jay's character and the sheer desperation Gatsby felt when separated from daisy.
