It gave exquisite details on how each individual part happened and how each character responded. Supporting my thesis, the novel was more intriguing than the movie. Each event was described clearly, whereas in the film many were left out or unspoken of. I feel as if the movie focused on just the main parts of the story, but in the book every little obstacle was written out. Therefore, I have given various examples as to why the book was better than the film, along with the major similarities and differences of the…

In the movie she learns of Zach’s arrest directly from his mother who is visiting the pink house, but in the book she answers the phone and the mother is on the other end crying. Also absent in the movie, but a huge part of the book, are the vigils for May and the long grieving process everyone goes through. The book version places a much larger impact on Mays death to the sisters, and lets the reader see the struggles they all go through because of it. One part of May’s death does make more sense in the movie version though, and that would be how Zach is arrested. In the book they know he is in the prison and can even visit him, but in the movie nobody knows where he has been taken or even if he’s alive.…

Divergent—Book vs. Movie In the first of the Divergent series, there are several differences between the movie and the book. These differences prove to make the book more enjoyable to readers. It is a typical thing in literature for a book to be more enjoyable to the reader than the movie will be as the reader has the freedom to decide what his own scenes look like. The book is superior to the movie in that the representations of violence are less in most ways than in the book.…

One of the similarities was that they both had the same characters, and one of the differences was that not all of the scenes were shown in the movie that was in the book. Also, there are some differences about how reading it than watching it like when you read the book it's a little bit more detailed and when you watch the movie they take out a lot of parts that are in the book. Often movies are made out of blockbuster books. Sometimes the movies do a good job of capturing the most important moments from the book and presenting them in the movie. Unfortunately, some movies do not always accurately depict the books they represent with full details. There are many reasons why a movie depiction of a book fails not least of which is because they are only given a couple of hours to tell the whole story in the book. A book is able to go in depth with the character’s emotions and experiences while a movie based on the book is limited by the length of the film.…

In “The Landlady”, Billy Weaver is lured into a seemingly normal bed and breakfast by an old lady who, despite her gentle and unthreatening appearance, wants to kill him. It is a story about how those with cruel intent may take advantage of those who are innocent and naive. Although the book and the movie can be arguably similar if generalized, there are many differences that may change the way a reader/viewer may grasp the concept of the story. Since a movie and book cannot be exactly the same, the film version is bound to have things that differ from the text. One example of how the book develops the development of the story is with the setting.…

What is better the movie or the book is troublesome question. I prefer reading books because I can imagine the characters, the emotions, whether in the book it is already given. It is rare that the movie and the my imaginations coincide that’s why if I read the book, I wouldn’t watch the movie, and if I watched the movie, I wouldn’t read the book. However, after I read the book and watched the movie, I was satisfied. The movie is a very fine and delicate narration of the book, although it didn’t keep close to the movie.…
